I would have posted on here some of the things I've read in Oswald Chambers but I'm afraid of the liabilities of plagiarism, and not sure how you correctly document copyrighted works on here.   But I will say I was amazed to learn that a lot of the things he said were to British soldiers that he preached to in Egypt during World War I.   He died very young, in his twenties I think, and his wife compiled all his sermons into a number of books.  He is the author of a number of books, I have read a number of them and they are so good.  The only thing is that he goes really deep s  read more »

Been thinking about: Oswald Chambers Oswald Chambers is a interesting guy to me.  One of his books, My Utmost for His Highest, always grabs me, and I keep going back to it again.   God really blessed him, he always goes straight to the point.  Reading his book has cleared up a number of the misconceptions I have had about being a Christian.  If you like going deep in your devotion time, this author might be for you.

Walking with Jesus to me means at least a couple of things:   If I love him, I'll obey him because I love him and not out of obligation.  So now I'm asking myself the question he asked Peter, do I love him.  Do I agapao him with Godly sacrificial love or just phileo him.   To be very honest and I'm ashamed to say, but often I'm struggling just to phileo him, that is, to show him the love of a brother.   I know that walking with him means fulfilling what his heart is asking me, in addition to loving him, and that's to obey him.  I s  read more »
