There are two ways to participate in the porch online:
- Get updates. Sign up to receive updates by email or newsreader, using the links in the keep up to date box in the right hand column
- Become a poster. Register as a user of the site and then post comments or articles. Here is how
- Register. If you have not yet done so, register as a user by clicking the log in link that is in the upper righthand corner of the home page. Fill in the information and follow the instructions.
- Login in. Click the log in link in the upper righthand corner. Enter your user id and password. I suggest checking the "remember me" box, too.
- Create a blog entry or participate in a discussion forum. To create a blog entry, just click the Create content link in the upper righthand corner of the page. Then, choose what you want to create:
- blog entry - an article that will show up on the front page for everyone to read
- forum topic - a discussion topic for people to read and respond to, sort of a discussion thread around an issue
- general event or porch meeting - an activity for people to know about
- Respond via comments. To add a comment to a blog or discussion forum, just click the comment link associated with that entry
