As we enter a new quarter and spring, it is a good time to reflect on where we are and where we are going. So, here is the Question: Why do you come to the Porch? Where do you think we should be going?
Our three emphases are, "Learning about God; Serving each other; Serving the community where we live." What do you think?

We have been looking at a variety of service projects. In our area, the main need is for money for flood relief. We encourage folks to give to that... but hard to have a gathering around giving money. So, we have to regroup a little.
Tonight, we will have a Christmas Party, eating and music and trying some ideas from Advent Conspiracy, making useful gifts that can be given away, that will be useful to a women's shelter. Jill and I found a cool project from (shudder) Martha Stewart that looks great, a no-knit, hand-knotted scarf. We'll have the stuff - you bring the love and hands to do it. This will be fun so come if you can. Connect, yak, make stuff, listen to music, eat and be together in an informal way. This will be a blessing to everyone, I think. We will continue our consideration together of the words of Jesus, reading through his words in John 14-16. What do you think Jesus means when he says "in My Father's house there are many dwelling places?" and how is that a challenge and a comfort?
If you can come early to help set up, that would be great!

Attached to this is artwork for banners and business cards and art work that we can use for advertising the porch.
The banner is sized to be 72"x36" and the artwork on it should scale
The logo (attached) is sized to be 36"x36". I can make other sizes fairly easily now, with or without fills, words, etc
Welcome to Summer! Along with the rest of Seattle, the Porch will be taking it a little easier this summer. We want to strike the balance between maintaining the momentum we've started and letting us all love the sum (that yellow thing in the sky). Ahh. So, Robin suggested we make more use of the porch blog to help us keep up with each other in the times we are not arround. If you are registered on this site, you can create blog entries! It is that easy. So keep us up with you!
